Coach Curtis Mattair Jr.

Director of Sports Performance

Curtis Mattair, Jr. joins The Trench as Director of Sports Performance. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in overall Sports Performance. Curtis is a Certified Trainer and Stretch Therapist. He is also a Masters level Social Worker and Educator. Curtis is the Director of Sports Performance at Lambert High School and has been very instrumental in the overall success of Lambert Athletics. Curtis is also the owner of 1 Motion Sports and Rehabilitation, where they provide one-on-one and small group stretch therapy, sports performance program design, and team mental conditioning training. Curtis is also very active with his nonprofit Youth Sports Performance where his group regularly conducts elementary After School programs to help kids improve their motor skills and mental wellness. His group also works with middle school youth in the weightroom setting to teach proper weightlifting techniques, weight room safety, and coping strategies to improve mental wellness. Curtis is a graduate of Alabama A&M University where he was a three year letterman in Track and Field. Since graduating he has worked with youth for over 20 years in various settings. He worked as both a therapist and Program Director in juvenile justice. He then transitioned into the public school system where he has worked as a Special Education Teacher, P.E. Teacher, and head coach of multiple sports.
